Superintendent of the Profound Christian Life Ministry, Reverend William Comoy |
The Superintendent of the Deep Christian Life Ministry, Reverend William Comoy, explained that his ministry includes the use of television, radio, social media, and other technological inventions to spread the gospel.
The octogenarian preacher lamented that “bad guys” use provisions of technology to advance their agenda, thus the church cannot continue to “sleep” but has to “wake up” and use the same technology to further their agenda, the love of the gospel.
The 80-year-old church leader spoke in a video uploaded to Facebook by the church’s Ekiti State chapter on Sunday.
In the five-minute, 16-second video, Komoye lamented the church’s slowness in taking advantage of technological tools.
“Why are you late, why are you the last to use all these things that people are using to make the world worse, we will rise.
“Whatever is available to people who do evil, we will take it away from them and use it to spread the gospel. Please change no into yes,” he said.
Earlier, Kumuyi, whose church members were known to hate television and other gadgets, said, “People are given new methods and do evil. It is the last days and evil is getting worse as people go beyond using their natural power, natural technology, use phones, use media, And they use all of these connections, zooming and all of that stuff in order to extend the damage they’re doing.
“If these messengers of Satan are using current technology and expanding, what about you? You will use those things that are available; they are not only available to messengers who do evil, but are available to people who do good. You will use them.
“The church grew. When the radio started a few years ago, people didn’t understand how the sounds would come out of the radio, and so the church said at the time, ‘No, we can’t use the radio, there’s something magical, that’s demonic, the sound that comes out of a simple instrument?'” The church said no. Then the peoples of the world began to use the radio. Then the church woke up.
“When the TV came on, somebody somewhere was playing a drama, they saw it on the screen, and then the church said, ‘This is evil, these last days, look at them, put the pictures on the screen and everything I do somewhere.'” And the church said, “No, we’re not going to use that,” but they later woke up using the TV now.
“But now the Church wakes up and we see that this thing (technology) is to spread the gospel, because the word of God is spreading everywhere. We will be wiser than the peoples of the world. The Lord will awaken us.
“Some people, when the plane arrived, some said, ‘We won’t use the plane,’ and they got on the plane. They got on the horse. The bike came and they said,” said Komoyi, who was criticized last September for using a private jet and limousine in a crusade in Abuja. Legs, so why would we use bicycles?
“Motorcycles came, cars came, and when the plane came they said, God gave us the land; he didn’t give us the space and so all these people who use the plane are worldly, and they go to hell.” I tell you what they said back then, but now all these people, the plane silenced them and now they can go anywhere.
