The new app provides guidance for cardiac emergencies

Frankfurt/Main (dpa/tmn) – What to do in a heart emergency? It’s all better than waiting, as that could cost lives, the German Heart Foundation explains. I developed a new free app that wants to provide emergency support.

OBJECTIVE OF APPLICATION: In the event of an emergency related to a possible cardiovascular arrest, the assistants must act quickly and correctly. In addition, it gives instructions on how to act properly when you find an unconscious person who has quick yes/no questions that must be answered.

The app knows what to do

It is also possible to make an emergency call via the app. The app also explains exactly what to do next: Under certain conditions, assistants have to hold the chest until the ambulance and emergency doctor arrive.

The app, very clear and short to the basics, shows in simple illustrations, short sentences and understandable language which symptoms can indicate a heart attack and when to call emergency services. It also offers a heart attack risk test consisting of 13 questions.

In the browser and for installation

The browser-based app is available at www.herzstiftung.de/app. If you connect to this website using your mobile phone, you can also install the app and add it to your home screen. If worse is worse, it can be opened and used quickly especially with a click of an app icon.
