They are suspected of reselling the stolen items

Everything is for sale on Leboncoin.fr. Even stolen things. After a false deal was intercepted, investigators from the property destruction unit arrested a man and a woman in a car on Friday May 21 in Besançon. The latter was in possession of a laptop computer suspected of having been stolen from a store selling multimedia equipment and home appliances in the capital of Comtois.

Their own investigation

The store’s managers had contacted the departmental security service, after they conducted several inventories in 2021 to highlight the theft of goods in exchange for a loss of 11,000 euros.

While doing their investigation on Leboncoin.fr, they found an ad selling one of their computers, thanks to the serial number. Computers confiscated by police while the two suspects were arrested.

Other property suspected of being stolen from the house

But this computer wasn’t the only thing that was in their car of questionable origin. The latter had several bottles of alcohol with an anti-theft device: champagne, rum, vodka. Torn locks were also found on the car. Plus, searches conducted in their homes made it possible to find other new things, as well as, again, bottles of alcohol.

According to a police source, investigations are underway to find out the owners of the discovered properties. We don’t know at this time the entirety of the damage this criminal network has caused. But the issue appears to be important.
