This is my adventure. With Benjamin Roquerolle, creator of the board game “Randognon”

“Adventure for me is a lot of feelings and emotions, He admits a slight hint of a southern accent, Benjamin Rosciroll. It’s something that penetrates us and takes us to places we haven’t been yet. Or, where we were already, which brings us back to memories. For me, adventure is a thrill.”

It is exactly the feeling that gives RandognonAnd The first board game launched this summer by Ardéchois, after two years of preparation. A real challenge for this young and dynamic thirty-year-old, which offers players the opportunity to challenge themselves by walking long distances using dice. But beware not to stay in rows of onions for too long!

“I chose this title, Randognon, first of all because when you cut an onion, you see lines inside, and they remind us of the contour lines you find on hiking maps, Benjamin details. Hence, it is true that in the game, there is always a moment, when we find ourselves in rows of onions, one behind the other. So Randognon was a perfect match! “

“In the game, you have to think about the weather, prepare yourself well, and choose the right path. Combining a little fun and a little fun side, just to have a laugh with friends!” , amused confirms.

the aim ? access first. To do this, players browse the map and take turns playing bonuses/penalties/ultras that affect the speed of their progress and the speed of others. They can store a lot of things in their backpacks: tent, windbreaker, snow boots, snacks …

So it will be necessary to monitor your reserves and equipment, so as not to miss anything, and thus continue a calm or comfortable walk. It would still be a shame to sleep outside without a tent and sleeping bag, or to have nothing left to eat. Ah, and by the way, anything goes! ” or almost.

Randognon's goal: get there first. To do this, players browse a map and can take turns playing bonuses/penalties/ultras that affect the speed of their progress, and the speed of others.

Since 2019, Randognon has been submitted to festivals, game bars and associations for testing. This is Benjamin’s first entrepreneurial adventure. “It takes a lot of work, wondering, travelling, advice, testing, disappointments, and laughter.”, it summarizes.

Concept, illustrations, communication, marketing, financial management, he does it all on his own. “Yes, I really decided to start the adventure and believe in my dream.”

A crowdfunding campaign (via Ulule) was launched last June with the goal of putting Randognon into production. “Toy production is plastic-free. The preferred materials are: cardboard, paper and wood. The idea now is to self-publish.”

For this engineer responsible for working at SCNF, creation is his oxygen bubble. “It motivates me, makes me happy and opens up different horizons for me. And in board games I let my creativity express itself and live. And my sense of humor!” Well done !
