This is why you don't have Orange mobile network on your vacation (abroad)

Bad news if you are an Orange customer and you are currently abroad. The French telecom company, along with its low-cost subsidiary Sosh, is experiencing an incident that has disrupted roaming services in some European countries. Subscribers cannot make phone calls, send and receive SMS messages or connect to the internet.

Remember that “roaming” or roaming allows you to use your plan to call other networks abroad. These roaming fees, which were previously charged to subscribers when traveling in Europe, have ceased to exist since 2017. If traveling to another member state of the European Economic Area (EEA), the subscriber using his mobile phone or smartphone is subject to the rates of his French operator.

Orange confirms the problem on social media, as customers talk about their incidents. “In Greece nothing has worked since this morning and there is no information from Orange”We can read in response to Orange's message. “We have been out of contact in Romania for more than 4 hours”another user denounces. “There is no phone network or 5G in Barcelona either” Another writes.

The problem affects Orange and Souch subscribers abroad.

The operator indicated yesterday that his teams were “Full mobilization to restore services as soon as possible”The issue appears to have been resolved, but the problem persists through this Friday.

Among the countries affected are highly touristic destinations such as Spain, Italy, Greece, and even Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Romania. According to reports, the problem also concerns destinations such as Norway or Malta.
