Differences between vented and non-ventilated air conditioner
Before installing an air conditioner in your home, you should understand the difference between air conditioning with exhaust and air conditioning without. The latter does not have a cooling circuit. Thanks to the principle of water cooling, this type of device can cool the room. In fact, the air passes through a filter moistened with water, which cools it. Then a fan spreads this cool air into the room. You should know that it is less efficient than an air conditioner with evacuation.
In fact, air conditioners with an evacuation duct include a refrigeration circuit. Inside it, there is a radiator that restores the hot air contained in the room. The calories of the hot air outside are then rejected by the evacuation duct, lowering the air temperature. Once cooled, it is ventilated in the room.
How does the water drain from your portable air conditioner?
It is important to regularly drain the water from your portable air conditioner to help it function properly. When the tank of the device is full, it will sound or light a signal to warn you. So it’s time to clean up! You should know that even if the water from the air conditioner is expelled through the drain pipe, there is always a little flow into the drain pan.
Begin by turning off the portable air conditioner before unplugging it. Then disconnect the air duct so you can more easily handle and move the device. It is then necessary to place a bowl under the drain plug before opening it. Once the tank is completely empty, all you have to do is dump the water into the aquarium or into the flower bed. Replace the drain plug and exhaust pipe, then reconnect the air conditioner.
At the end of unpacking, set your device to the ventilation function. This allows you to dry it well before using the air conditioning function again. This reduces the risk of mold in the air conditioner!
