Updated on September 19, 2024 at 10:01 AM: Microsoft has denied the upcoming Windows 11 24H2 release in this same matter. Co-pilot Related Blog Postspecified in the note:

The dates shown below are our regular monthly updates for supported versions of Windows 11 and have no relation to when Windows 11 24H2 will be generally available.

So we still don't know when this next major release of Windows 11 will be released, but we imagine its arrival is planned for early fall by Microsoft.

We've been talking about it for 6 months now: the 24-hour update for Windows 11 is finally arriving after more than 8 months of announcements from Microsoft.

This major new version of Windows was expected to be Windows 12 at the beginning of the year before the 24H2 update was made available to Insiders a few months ago.

Microsoft finally delivers news on its expected launch this month without giving a specific date.

Windows 11 24H2 Imminent Release Date

Microsoft hides this information in Blog post Regarding the deployment of Copilot for its professional clients. We can read there:

The changes will roll out to managed PCs starting with the optional non-security preview release on September 24, 2024, and then with the release of the monthly security update on October 8 for all supported editions of Windows 11. These changes will be applied to Windows 10 PCs the following month.

So you'll be able to update your PC to Windows 11 24H2 starting September 24 if you activate the “Get the latest updates as soon as they're available” option in the Windows Update menu.

For all other users, Microsoft will roll out the update to all Windows 11 users on Tuesday, October 8 during the popular Patch Tuesday.
