Electronic Arts is full of praise for its recent partnership with Xbox, and especially for the arrival of much of its catalog inside Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This merger has already enabled the publisher to reach 13 million subscribers to its video game service by subscribing to EA Play.
Marking the company’s third-quarter financial results presentation, EA Managing Director Andrew Wilson released exceptional growth numbers. In fact, according to last December’s numbers, the number of active users of the service doubled in 3 months, rising from 6.5 million subscribers to 13 million all platforms combined (Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and the EA client). These impressive results, according to Andrew Wilson, are largely due to the partnership with Microsoft since November 2020.
Reserved for subscribed Xbox Game Pass Ultimate console players, access to EA Play should soon be available to PC operators as well. However, an unanswered question remains regarding the duration of this partnership and the existence of the show in the Xbox catalog. No information has been leaked yet, but Aaron Greenberg, Xbox Marketing Director, indicated it was a long-term deal.
