The Mac is still far from being a video game champion. For several years, Apple has been putting pressure on publishers to port their games to its platform, but this effort is by no means enough. Asahi Linux makes its contribution. (…) Games are generally compiled for x86 systems (such as Intel and AMD processors), while Apple's chips are based on the ARM architecture. Google is bringing official support for Debian Linux on Android devices with the new Terminal app. The application, discovered by the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), uses the Android Virtualization Framework (AVF) to run a Debian virtual machine. This will allow users to run Linux commands in an isolated environment on Android devices.

MacG: Infomaniak launches 'sovereign' open source AI platform.
Infomaniak continues to assert its difference. The largest Swiss host offers a platform that brings together “the best alternatives to ChatGPT, Gemini, Midjourney or Claude for processing sensitive data in full compliance with European and Swiss law.” Hosted in the company's new data center, whose energy is being reused to heat 6,000 homes in Geneva, the platform complements Artificial Intelligence This offers a “sovereign alternative” to the digital giants.

LeMagIT: perfctl hijacks Linux machines to mine cryptocurrencies
On Thursday, October 3, Aqua Security released new research detailing perfctl, a Linux malware that appears to have been around since at least 2021. According to the report, it “actively searched for more than 20,000 types of configuration defects.” Aqua's Nautilus team strongly believes that the attackers responsible for perfctl have targeted millions of systems and that many more Linux servers may be vulnerable.
