Les Orageuses has launched a mobile library to bring feminist culture to neighborhoods

The association wants to share feminist culture with the people of the Dijon regions. Orageus.es will be cruising through town in the fall, with a library as a trailer. Books on feminism and gender minorities will be made available free of charge.

It’s a bookshop on wheels, which will be making its way into the neighborhoods of Dijon this fall. On the shelves are novels, cartoons and other documents written only by women, or dealing with themes of feminism and gender minorities.

The project is implemented by the armed association Les Orageus.es Objective: “Giving more clarity to these issues and going directly to residents in neighborhoods, to people who don’t necessarily have access to this feminist culture. We want this library to be a social networking target‘ explained the volunteers.

Call for donations

The mobile library is ready, designed by a volunteer in wood and thanks to the first crowdfunding launched online.

All that remains now is to fill it out and for that the association launches a new appeal for donations on Saturday 5 June. In addition to paperback books, audiovisual content such as records or documentaries are welcome.

The works will then be freely available to all. For the volunteers, each visit to the library will also be an opportunity to discuss various topics such as fiction, environmental feminism or even activism.
