While we are in the middle of the GPU generations, there aren’t many exciting developments in the world of gaming laptops. But a new Asus gaming laptop has been leaked from the FCC certification office with a Ryzen 6000 chip and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti chip.
None of these components currently exist for gaming laptops, but it’s not the first time we’ve heard of the RTX 3080 Ti in a laptop. The new Asus ROG Strix G15 will also include the Ryzen 9 6900HS, so this is the first leak of the new AMD chip.
It’s still early days, and we’re not sure the specs will actually look like this, but according to a leak reported by MyLaptubeGuide, the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX will have 8 cores and 16 threads, just like the 5900HX. As for the configuration with the RTX 3080 Ti, it will have at least 32GB of RAM.
That’s all we know about the processor, but as we get closer to CES 2022, we’re sure more information will start pouring in. be patient.
Analysis: AMD’s Great Response
Although testing the Intel Core i9-12900K ran into a serious problem, several other tests indicate that Intel Alder Lake is AMD’s first serious competition in years. So far, AMD still only has 7nm Ryzen 5000 processors to battle Intel.
But not for long.
We haven’t heard of Zen 4 yet, and it’s been just over a year since AMD released Zen 3 processors. Demonstration at CES 2022.
What’s left for us to see from Zen 4, of course, is how to battle Intel’s latest effort. Going for a big LITTLE design was a huge risk for Intel, especially given how Windows performed on ARM in the past, but it paid off. AMD will likely stick to the same kind of core layout as before, and we can’t wait to see how it uses that to get ahead of Intel.
Either way, we won’t have to wait long: CES 2022 will take place in just under two months, on January 5th.
