The Municipal Police of Isigny-sur-Mer Calvados was equipped with a new car to improve its functionality and provide the best possible service to the residents. The municipality wants local and field work.
Cyril Jasper and Helen Pele Those who make up a pair within the municipal police now have a new car.
The old one has taken its life, and it will be reused for other missions within the art department. We got Jumpy in municipal police colors to work on the whole new municipality.
The first mobile municipal police station in the district
“It is a more practical and less energy-intensive vehicle with a consumption of 5 l / 100 km compared to double our previous car,” explains Cyril Jasper, Chief of the Municipal Police. But this is not the only advantage of this new tool.
This is Calvados’ first mobile municipal police station. We operate in five municipalities, and the territory is vast. The maximum population of the town hall is 12 km. If people can’t come to Isigny, we can come to them. The car is equipped with two opposite seats in the back with a table. We can therefore receive a complaint, for example, without entering the private sphere. After that, we can put the two mountain bikes in the trunk and patrol the cities with the bike,” continues Cyril Jasper.
It’s all about muscle strength
The two colleagues chose not to equip themselves with electric bikes but rather with classic mountain bikes.
“Electric assistance is good on hilly terrain and traveling 50 kilometers a day. In Isigny, it’s flat! We hike a maximum of 2 hours for 20 km. We wanted our mountain bike outings to be sporty. The city council wanted to order electric bikes, but we refused. This made it It is possible to allocate the cost difference between electrical and standard equipment elsewhere.”
Back from the blue zone
The Municipal Police will have an important job at the Blue Zone response level from 4 April. The mayor also wants vigilance to be paid to dog litter.
In addition, the municipality receives three interns. Louis Nicolle and Alexandre Letupin from Saint-Lô, Martin Guillotte from Osmanville.
The three young men in the last year of the baccalaureate for security professions. They are present between one to two weeks. “It’s an opportunity to stay abreast of what we are training them. They don’t interfere but are a visual enhancement to us,” Cyril Jaspierre defines.
