The TFT Gizmos and Gadgets Tournament will be the first ever LCQ tournament

The competitive season of Teamfight Tactics Gizmos and Gadgets is fast approaching its peak with several regions launching their regional tournaments. Following the initial reveal of TFT Rising Legends Finals in EMEA, Riot Games made a live announcement Wednesday to confirm LCQs for North America, Latin America, and Brazil as well as EMEA. Players from each region will compete in a one-day tournament that awards the last two places in the TFT Gizmos and Gadgets Tournament.

Each region will send two players to participate in this invitational mini tournament of eight players. Eastern regions, including China, Korea, Japan and Oceania, are notably absent. But while they don’t have one last chance in the playoffs, they will earn additional places in the Gizmos and Gadgets tournament through the Asian Cup.

In the case of the TFT Rising Legends Finals, the players who finished in the top five will automatically qualify for the tournament. Players who finish sixth and seventh will be sent to the LCQ. For North America, they’ll send out their fifth and sixth players. Brazil will send its fourth and fifth players. Finally, Latin America will also send its fourth and fifth players, thus completing the Group of Eight.

Last season at TFT Reckoning, there was simply a “play-in” stage, which functionally stands for LCQ. Each region sent its less skilled players to fight for a place in the main event. This season, there is no play phase.
