Your Samsung mobile phone has a special feature that allows you to use two WhatsApp accounts at the same time. We explain step by step how to activate it.
Most smartphones sold today are dual SIM, that is, they have two SIM card slots and allow you to use two phone numbers at the same time. However, this feature is of little use to us if apps like WhatsApp only facilitate the use of one account per device.
For this reason, some manufacturers have specific functions of cloning applications so that we can use them twice independently on the same mobile. One such manufacturer is Samsung, which allows you to have two different WhatsApp accounts on the same mobile. So you can, for example, use the personal and business account at the same time without always having to carry two phones.
How to use two different WhatsApp accounts on your Samsung phone
Just as you can clone WhatsApp to use the same account on two different phones, you can do it another way: clone the app to use two different accounts on the same phone. This is possible thanks to Samsung’s “Dual Messaging” function, which duplicates the messaging apps you have installed, not just WhatsApp.
Apart from cloning the app, this tool from your Samsung mobile also allows you to use separate contact lists. Next, we see how to activate it step by step:
- Go to the smartphone settings.
- Scroll down and click on “Advanced Features”.
- Enter the “Dual Messaging” section.
- Check the box to the right of “WhatsApp”.
- Click OK when you see the message “Do you want to install secondary WhatsApp?” “.
- If desired, enable the function of using a separate contact list in secondary applications.
Once the procedure is done, you will just have to go to the apps menu to check if a new WhatsApp icon appears. This differs from the original by the small red pattern in the lower right corner. To use this clone of WhatsApp, just follow the steps that you will do with normal WhatsApp and set up the new phone number.
As mentioned, you can use this “dual messaging” tool with other WhatsApp-like apps, such as Telegram. If you are one of those who have to always have two mobile phones with you to use two WhatsApp accounts, you will greatly appreciate this function.
