Some developers try to push the boundaries of realism to their limits. But unfortunately, this might be too expensive for your gaming PC!

Bodycam: A very realistic FPS game, but for what PC configuration?

Always bigger, always more impressive, always more photo-realistic!

Some studios play the realism card to sell their games, and such is the case with Bodycam. Reissad Studio, composed solely of French developers, brings us a photo-realistic game inspired by the aesthetics of on-board military cameras.

Despite the very realistic and detailed art direction, Bodycam is clearly not the most demanding game of the year. In fact, we find the recommended configurations quite “low” compared to what the title presents us graphically.

Bodycam is made using Unreal Engine 5, the latest engine from Epic Games. The latter offers very good performance and guaranteed stability.

In minimal configuration The studio recommends an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel Core i7 9700K processor, along with an NVIDIA RTX 2070 or AMD RX 5700 graphics card.

Suffice it to say that these are not still expensive products these days. If you want to game at Full HD (1080p), a 3-4 year old configuration will do just fine.

On the other hand, if you want to take the experience up a bit, for example at a higher resolution (1440p), you should invest in a slightly newer configuration.

Once again, the studio recommends an RX 6600 XT or NVIDIA RTX 3060 graphics card, which are the penultimate generation models.

The game still weighs 50GB, and we highly recommend installing the game on an SSD (M.2 or SATA), especially due to loading times that can be quite long on a classic HDD.

Please note: Bodycam is a game released in Early Access!

So you should regularly look at the recommended configurations on the game's Steam page to be aware of the latest developments. In fact, adding lighting effects, particles, or any other important improvements can greatly affect your in-game performance, and the developers are aware of this and have sent some tips to enjoy the game in the best conditions.

Bodycam is compatible with AMD's FSR technology. Even if you have an NVIDIA graphics card, you can activate this feature to improve the smoothness of your game thanks to this video upscaling technology. To do this, go to the game's graphics options, and activate FSR Frame Generation.

Developers are also actively working on implementing NVIDIA's DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling).a more efficient video upscaling technique that uses artificial intelligence.

Of course, if you have some concerns about stability, feel free to lower the graphics quality in the game options, it goes without saying.
