A QR code alone is not enough: WhatsApp increases its security, and now there is a double bottom for WhatsApp Web.
WhatsApp is still in the process of setting up an innovation that allows us to use multiple devices with one WhatsApp account in the future. Meanwhile, the company is also working on other improvements. For WhatsApp Web, there is now a welcome innovation in security regarding the smartphone app.
WhatsApp promises more convenience and security with its latest mod. If you want to connect to your smartphone on WhatsApp Web, you can now also use your finger or face. Depending on what is stored on your smartphone for authentication.
WhatsApp: Show me your face or your finger
With this innovation, WhatsApp reacts to previous criticisms, which were partly unjustified. If you want to add the WhatsApp account to the WhatsApp web instance, you have to unlock the device again. Until now, it was sufficient to scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
Face or fingers are only required if your device supports these methods, as the corresponding system functionality is used for this. So it is not a WhatsApp solution, but rather the use of available functions (interfaces) on our smartphones. The Android app has been locked twice for a long time.
In order to link WhatsApp Web or desktop application to their WhatsApp account in the future, users will be required to unlock their mobile phone using a face recognition or a fingerprint scanner, provided that these functions are available in the mobile operating system. Only then can users scan a QR code using their cell phone that allows them to link their WhatsApp account on WhatsApp Web or Desktop Application.
