Building your own desktop (or even purchasing pre-made models) is expensive at the moment, due to the shortage of GPUs from AMD and Nvidia, but there are still plenty of great deals on gaming laptops. Now, Acer is downsizing a version of the Predator Triton 500 laptop with the RTX 2070 Super to $ 1,299.99 on Amazon. That’s $ 500 for an MSRP, and about $ 330 less than normal. Acceptable.
There are several different hardware configurations for the Triton 500, but the model offered for sale has an Intel Core i7-10750H processor, a 15.6-inch G-Sync 300Hz display, and 16GB of RAM. DDR4, on-keyboard RGB lighting and 512GB NVMe. SSD. Everything stored inside the slim bezel (by gaming laptop standards) is 0.7 inches.
The graphics card is Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super, which is one of the most powerful GPUs that can fit in a laptop. This is the Max-Q variant, so you won’t get the full power of the RTX 2070 Super, but the laptop should still be able to handle games at its original 1080p resolution without any issues.
We reviewed a variant of the Predator Triton 500 laptop last year, which had a larger SSD and RTX 2080 Super Max-Q. We liked the slim design and excellent gaming performance, but we noticed the laptop got hot at times – although the RTX 2070 Super is low on power, there may be some improvement.
