Switch: Nintendo is already preparing for another record year for console and game sales – teller report

According to the information received from Bloomberg Sourced from component suppliers, publishers, and retailers, 2021-2022 will be far from the slowdown in Switch sales that most analysts have spotted. On the contrary, Nintendo expects an ambitious new annual fiscal year at least in terms of console sales and even higher in terms of game sales. For reference, Nintendo plans to sell 205 million Switch games for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2021, but the manufacturer will target a record 250 million games for the following year, according to Bloomberg. Remember, with more than 532 million games distributed worldwide, the Switch has already sold more games than all other Nintendo consoles except for the DS (948 million) and the Wii (922 million).

That goal suggests Nintendo may still have a few unannounced headlines for the second half of 2021, along with the increasingly likely launch of a new Switch model with a larger OLED screen and 4K output on TV. In terms of Switch sales, Nintendo apparently plans to distribute as many consoles, if not more, for its fifth annual fiscal year such as its fourth fiscal year. Presently, Nintendo sold 24.1 million Switches between April and December 2020 versus a forecast of 26.5 million by March 2021 (a conservative target would undoubtedly be closer to 30 million in fact). Incidentally, Nintendo plans to easily cross the symbolic band of 100 million Switches in the world before the end of this year 2021.
