The mobile gendarmerie barracks in Melon (Seine-e-Marne) were targeted by mortar shells Monday at the end of the evening. Then about twenty people attacked the police as they intervened.
It was 10:40 pm when pyrotechnics fired mortars at a building in the mobile gendarmerie barracks in Melon, on Avenue de Corbel. Police quickly arrived at the scene, and were then hit by several projectiles from a group of about twenty.
The attackers quickly fled and none of them were captured. No damage was noted to the front of the barracks, and there were no unfortunate injuries. An investigation was opened and entrusted to Mellon Police Station.
Police stations and gendarmes have been regularly targeted, particularly with mortar shells, in recent months. This was especially the case in Meyzieu, in Lyon at the beginning of April, or even in Enghien-les-Bains (Val-d’Oise) at the end of March.
The Sarcel police station was also the target of this type of attack, twice within two weeks, last month.
