Peer-based studio Polygoat offers a platform game exclusively available for the Nintendo Switch. With a very colorful universe, the artistic trend is reminiscent of Crash Bandicoot with strange totems and idols as well as wooden boxes with bonuses. But unlike the popular Playstation 1 game, Stitchy in Tooki Trouble is played in 2D even if a sense of depth is there thanks to the dynamic background. We feel the delicate work on the combos and environments that make up the three worlds each with 9 levels (+1 hidden). Each world ends with a boss fight, and the game ends with Tooki himself.
Gameplay is classic and dynamic. Movements, jump, double jump and “drop” attack. No sweat except the ability to walk with a joystick masterfully. There are inspirations from Super Mario or Donkey Kong. Here coins or bananas are exchanged for ears of corn to be collected. Title difficulty is minimal and it is completed in under 3 hours. A game we mainly recommend for younger or unconditional platform game fans.
Stitchy in Tooki Trouble is available on the Nintendo Switch eShop for € 12.99
