Laureate of the International Film Festival of Venice Mostra, Blanca Le, invites viewers to take part in her new show “Le Bal de Paris”, using a virtual reality headset, and thus ascend on the stage of the Theater de Chaillot along with the dancers.
For his new immersive show”Paris ballFrom October 7-16 in Chaillot, National Dance Theater, dancer and choreographer Blanca Li imagine a large participatory ball in virtual reality.
This choreography is divided into three works, it is led by two dancers who play the main roles in the plot and take the audience with them. Viewers can then follow them to the dance or just observe them.
This project was awarded the Best VR (Virtual Reality) Experience for Interactive Content at the 78th International Film Festival in Venice Mostra last September:This award is more than encouraging“.

Blanca Li has been implementing this project for over three years. What at first seemed to him an impossible dream is now possible: “We’ve spent a lot of time in technology, pushing the boundaries“The dancer tells us. Virtual reality experiences in the world of dance are extremely rare.”The simple question had to be answered: How do you make the audience see each other and dance together?“It is not clear that Blanca believed me.
As for the practical aspects, the listeners wear a virtual reality headset but also sensors on the body as well as a computer built into a small backpack. Then we can enter the party and follow the main characters in their love story. So the audience is an integral part of the story.
