DIGOIN: “Ocean, Extraordinary Diving”, an exhibition designed by the Museum of Natural History in Paris

This exhibition was completed by the City of Digoin, with the support of “Grand Charolais”.

Although the ocean covers most of our planet, it is still largely unknown. The exhibition “The Ocean, An Extraordinary Diving” offers all audiences, from the age of 5, a fascinating and amazing journey into the heart of indigenous biodiversity, away from the coast and familiar characters.
After a presentation of the limitations and challenge of exploring the marine environment, visitors dive into another dimension to discover the microscopic life within the plankton. The rest of the track will raise public awareness of a more nature-respecting approach and enlighten them about the unexpected resources of the marine environment.

The exhibition develops a common thread about the threats humans today pose to the ocean and the richness of ocean life, which we are discovering more and more every year.
With an unprecedented scenography that combines sculpture, giant installation and immersive projection, to a selection of all the weird and wonderful specimens and many interactive devices such as virtual reality, the exhibition, which draws on scientists’ research, allows the public to better understand life in the ocean to better protect it.
After attracting more than 8,000 visitors last year on the theme of “Dinosaurs,” this new summer exhibition “Ocean, An Extraordinary Dive,” presented at DOCK 713, was designed by the National Museum of Natural History and completed by the City of Digoin, thanks to the support of the municipal community” Le Grand Charolais” and the Dumas Museum in Sanary-sur-Mer.
