The third generation of Ducky keyboards is available in four sizes. Hot swappable buttons, exotic colors and new “Quack mechanics”. There are four characteristics, as a “design philosophy”, should be a kind of promise of quality.

These key features include small keycaps made of double-cut PBT plastic, a stable housing with “balanced weight distribution,” improvements in background noise through insulation, made with two layers of rubber and foam compounds, and improved fasteners under large keys.

vary greatly

The third generation of One differs visually from its predecessors in that it has a flat case and, above all, the color scheme. Black and white versions are removed from the range, and alternatives are available in the form of two-tone Daybreak (gray/blue), matcha (beige/olive green) and pink (purple/pink) patterns. In addition, the One 3 is offered in the all-yellow version in yellow.

Many buttons displayed, more possible

Ducky offers buttons from a large selection. The keyboard is delivered in versions of Cherry’s MX-RGB series including the MX Clear. The MX Clear is similar to the MX Brown, but has a much more pronounced pressure point and requires more force to operate due to a stronger spring. The buttons have recently been connected. This means that it can be replaced without a soldering iron. In addition to the Cherry buttons, variants from other manufacturers that follow the MX model can also be used.

The keyboards are also equipped with RGB lighting, N-key rollover, and USB-C connectivity with a detachable cable. Macro and multimedia functions are performed using dual tasks, with the entire configuration performed until Ducky lights up directly via the keyboard, as is customary on Ducky. The company does not use any software.

Four designs up to €200

The One 3 is again offered as a Mini at a 60 percent layout and as an SF at a 65 percent layout. In addition, there is a keyless version and a standard version without compromises. In miniature form, the One 3 can be found on retailers’ lists at just under 140 euros, while the Ducky One 3 in full-size format represents the upper end of the spectrum for a good 200 euros. Prices depend not only on the size, but also on the color and required buttons. The consoles should be available from mid-February.
