Giants transform into former Dodger in NLDS 3

Los Angeles: Alex Wood is back home to start Game 3 of the NL Division Series at Dodger Stadium. for giants.

Former Dodgers player got the ball on Monday night against Los Angeles Max Sheerzer with a best five series tied in one game each.

Wood was a key Dodgers member of their World Series run last year after joining the team on a one-year contract. He became a free agent after the season and was eager to get back on the right track. In January, he signed with rival Giants.

Wood was 10-4 with a 3.83 ERA in a 26 regular season start. In three matches against his former team, Southbau suffered two defeats 1-0 and not a single decision was made. He made six innings in each of the first two rounds, allowing for two runs and four runs. In his third round, he scored three points.

Game 2 writer Kevin Gausman said that if you look at Woodys playoff numbers, he’s been amazing, whether he’s starting or coming out of the dump bin. The Dodgers obviously know this, too, because they’ve owned it for so long. It’s going to be a good match and I’m happy to see Woody working.

The Giants must win one of the next two games in Los Angeles to force the series back to San Francisco for a crucial fifth match. They won 4-0 in Game 1 and the Dodgers came back to life in Game 2 for a 9-2 victory.

Wood was the obvious choice with so much at stake, he was great for the Giants after the loss, with the team leading 12-1.

Giants manager Gabe Kapler said he did really well for us and, in particular, did well for us late, which is the main consideration. He’s one of our top three shooters at the moment.

Wood also benefits from the experience and comfort of Dodger Stadium. He spent four seasons with the Dodgers, coming of age as a primary pitcher in their rotation after being drafted by the Atlanta Braves.

He was an All-Star in 2017, when he started the season in a dumpster and became a regular fixture when Rich Hill got injured. Wood became the first Dodgers player to start a 10-0 season since Don Newcomb in 1955. He started a game in both the NL Championship and the World Championship that year, then returned. Houston Astros, whose cheating scandal was later exposed.
