With “WebXR Experiments”, Google provides a platform for web-based applications that use augmented or virtual reality. The giant search engine brings four great apps.
Experiments with Google is Google’s platform for showcasing new technologies. Now they are joined by the WebXR standard, making augmented (extended) and virtual (virtual) facts accessible across the web.
The WebXR Experiments It was designed openly. Google requires its users to provide additional applications with access to an API.
Meanwhile, Google Creative Lab developers have contributed four apps, three of which are already available. In order to use it, interested parties need an Android smartphone ARCore support And the current Chrome browser.
These are the WebXR apps from Google
Google Designs have really come up with something for WebXR experiments. These are the applications:
Sudar Specializes in visualizing social distance. You can view a distance of two meters on any environment with the augmented reality radar.
With Measure up You can calculate the length, area and volume of things around you without using a tape measure.
Floom It is the creative success between applications. With this app, you can make your way across Earth anywhere and see exactly what is on the other side of the planet. In addition to WebXR, Google also uses Google Maps here.
PicturesScape is still in progress. This is an alternate gallery that shows you your Google Photos library in a previously unknown way. The app should be available soon.
The WebXR Device API provides access to input and output functions for VR and AR devices. The API can be used to deliver AR / VR experiences across the web.
The WebXR Device API emerged from the previous WebVR, which only handled VR. However, with WebXR, AR applications can be created, which are much more promising, as the reality is expanded to include data views.
This all works with smartphones that use the camera to integrate a real-world view, as well as with corresponding data glasses, which offer essentially the same functionality, but allow for a more immersive experience by sitting in front of the eye.
