HTC VIVE launches NFT Vive Arts

With its Viverse strategy, HTC intends to remove the barriers separating the real and virtual world by emphasizing immersion.

Since 2016, the HTC Group has been working hard to support growth and innovation in the Extended Reality (XR) space, both in terms of hardware, platforms and content, through investments and strategic partnerships. The digital space of the future should indeed be a place where it is possible to transact in both fiat and cryptocurrencies, own objects or exchange NFTs, and use digital identity wallets. , communication, collaboration, encryption, privacy and more.

With this in mind, HTC is launching its own NFT VIVE Arts store designed specifically for arts and culture. This new exchange platform, can be accessed via the website Vive ArtsIt will already host all forms of digital art, whether it be articles in Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) or XR. The creators will manage the number of NFT issues and format their sales themselves, knowing that fiat and cryptocurrencies will be accepted for settlements.

The new transaction platform dedicated to art objects will allow VIVE Arts to continue its development, to create a global ecosystem in the service of art and culture, with the aim of supporting the evolution from the world of digital arts. “Through this platform, VIVE Arts strengthens its support for artists and organizations, creating new opportunities for digital creativity, innovation and communication using blockchain technology.” Explains Cher Wang, co-founder and president of HTC.

An inaugural sale takes place on Friday, December 17: it will be possible to obtain NFTs or non-fungible tokens from token works of Modern Art, created by world-renowned Czech artist Alfons Mucha (1860-1939), as part of a wide-ranging collaboration with the Foundation Mucha. This Timeless Mucha sales day comes at the same time as the opening of the “Mucha to Manga – The Magic of the Line” exhibition in Taipei, sponsored by Mucha Foundation. A new series of NFTs will be offered each month for the duration of the exhibition, which will conclude with a special auction in April 2022.

HTC has been a leader in this virtual reality ecosystem for several years, they have always created both headphones like the Vive Flow, but also in content with a lot of creativity from artists working with the manufacturer teams.

For example, in 2020, an amazing virtual reality experience has taken you into a world with illustrator Kristjana S. Williams following your companion White Rabbit. In 2021, Planet City launches, a virtual reality experience, in a dollhouse where audiences surround a slowly growing city of 10 billion people around them. In an area of ​​2 x 2 meters, while standing, they can look around the buildings and through the windows, pass between the buildings, look at the city towering above, and go down into the depths of the city from below. Planet City debuted at the 2021 Asian Digital Art Exhibition at the Times Museum of Art, Beijing.
