An increasingly well-known figure in the entertainment world, the Horned Toad extends its legs everywhere and its contacts are multiple.

So much so that he tied the knot with Santa Claus, no one else, who gave him Elf-Mobile. “To spread happiness in Suroît,” he calls, in his characteristic voice, Toad, the head of the theater that bears his name in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.

Carl Vincent, assistant artist at Cultural Amphibians, explains that he put on a skit at La Lutin-Mobile in order to make a cheerful, yet accessible, show in front of people.

Versatile power

With the festive season kicking off aboard the minibus-turned-mobile theatre, the band is made up of versatile and effective artists. “In less than 30 seconds, we are ready to play the short show that lasts about seven minutes. We stop the car and are ready to raise the curtain. We deliver the effect of surprise. The magic works quickly,” explains Carl Vincent enthusiastically.

After working with colleagues in Citrouilleville, and then for the L’Affaire Shortis, at Halloween, he wanted to continue. “There’s Caroline Peterment, whom I knew at the time with Cirque du Soleil when we were doing R&D. There’s also Alexandre Malo Sir who I was with at the Cégep de Valleyfield, a genius at improvisation. Then Emmanuel Rio. Our grandparents used to be neighbours. In San Polycarp, the creative craftsman pleads: “We have great chemistry together.”

He revamped La Lutin-Mobile in the fall, while Caroline Petrement made the little man who cultivates magic in young and old alike. “It’s done by hand. Everything was homemade,” laughs Caroline, who spent many hours creating these half-fairy, half-human characters, even without a sewing machine.

busy holiday season

If he says he’s late for the 2021 vacation period, Carl Vincent, the philosopher, claims he’ll be way ahead of the 2022 vacation. “We have dates left for shows. We’ve even planned for December 24, 25, and 26. They take place between 4pm and 9pm.” It’s important in the evening.explains the man who modified La Lutin-Mobile to include meters of light garlands.

“We want to create emotion in the other. By going home. It’s a nice end-of-year gift for our fans, those who follow us and who would like to gift their loved ones,” Caroline Peterment concludes.
