Mozilla VPN: Split Tunneling and More

Innovation first concerns split tunnelingIt allows targeted control of applications through a VPN tunnel. Sensitive data can be protected via a VPN while online gaming, for example, uses the full bandwidth of your network connection. Manufacturers like NordVPN and Surfshark have been offering this feature for a long time, and Mozilla is now incorporating this option into their service.

With the second function, the manufacturer aims for a procedure that many already know from the cafe or train. If you connect to a WLAN as a guest and start the browser, a website will automatically open with more information about how to use the local network. This landing page or login page is also known as captive gate. Mozilla VPN now automatically detects the restricted portal and advises the user to temporarily deactivate the VPN so that the browser can open the page. When the login is complete, the program reminds you to reactivate the VPN protection. So far, Mozilla VPN has simply blocked the site, at which point the browser responded with a corresponding error message. The problem should now be a thing of the past.
