Nine Sols: Red Candle Games releases new game trailer, crowdfunding site live

Red Candle Games, the Taiwan-based video game developer that creates horror titles like Detention and Devotion, has launched its crowdfunding campaign for its upcoming game, Nine Sols.

The team previously announced describing Nine Sols as “an Asian fantasy journey inspired by Sekiro, Hollow Knight and Katana Zero.” It is also a “content-rich, hand-drawn” 2D action platform game that emphasizes the eccentricity of combat. Red Candle also promises immersive storytelling and a unique “Taopunk” setting in Nine Sols. Taopunk is a mixture of cyberpunk, Taoism and Far Eastern mythology.

The studio wants to “build an elegant Taopunk universe that blends cyberpunk/sci-fi elements with Taoism and Far Eastern mythology,” Red Candle wrote on its crowdfunding site.

The team is also trying to “recreate Sekiro’s drift-focused combat experience in 2D and pair it with classic side-scrolling exploration.” Visually, Nine Sols will fuse handcrafted artwork influenced by the anime and manga, and its music will consist of a “dark electronic sound mixed with oriental instruments”.

In Nine Sols, players will explore a land that was once the home of an ancient alien race, after a hero’s quest to kill the Nine Meriol, who are the rulers of this desolate world.

You can find a lot of additional information about Nine Sols on the Red Candle website. You’ll find a description of the story, combat mechanics with animations that show you in action, details and illustrations of the world of Taopunk, and even information about the planned release of the game on PlayStation, Nintendo, and PC. Red Candle did not mention the platforms because it acknowledges that Nine Sol development is “between two console generations” and that “it is difficult to provide a definitive list of compatible platforms at this time”.

Red Candle seeks to raise 3 million New Taiwan dollars, equivalent to about 106 thousand US dollars. I have already collected 81% of that amount.

The Red Candle website reads: “Nine Sols has been an ongoing project for Red Candle Company for over two years.” “We have already started researching prototypes for this game a few months after the launch of Devotion, so we are fully committed to this project. We want to make it clear that the crowdfunding campaign will not change the fate of Nine Sols, which means we will do our best to complete the game regardless of the outcome. .

In fact, the main objective of this campaign is to receive your comments. As always, our primary concern is what you, the player, think of our game.”

While waiting for Nine Sols, read on Inform’s . Game Dedication to the media and then catch up with the arrest movie, which was shown last year.
