“What if culture, like agriculture, became an economic engine for our rural land!” (Philippe Busquiere)
It was Friday 29 April when the governor of Lot-et-Garonne, Jean-Noel Chavanne, was surrounded by Senator Jean-Pierre Moga, regional councilor Marie Costis, district councilor Laurence Ducos, CAUE president Jean-Jacques Mirande, and a deputy. DRAC Regional Director Marc Daniel, CAUE Director Nathalie Herrard, Lot-et-Garonne Academy Director Patrice Lemoine, Departmental Delegate for Heritage Foundation Jean-Jacques Carle and several dignitaries responded to the invitation of Philippe Bousquier, Mayor of Prayssas, to inaugurate the new media library installed in the historic building of Thirteenth century in the heart of the village.
A place dedicated to cultural entertainment
In addition to a completely renovated library, the Prayssas Media Library provides a room that can accommodate exhibitions and meetings, a computer room, a digital space, a focal point for the French services at the service of citizens, cultural activities with microbiology under the supervision of the Parc de la Villette and the Regional Department of Cultural Affairs, Which gives access to the largest national and international museums to discover their riches, as well as documentaries, by immersion with virtual reality headsets and rebroadcasting of performances, concerts, operas, etc.
During his opening and welcoming speech, Mayor Philippe Busquier insisted on “the synergies that can be established between the various places of culture in our territory. I am sure that these synergies will give substance to our cultural project through the effective and rational use of this place of culture”.
All the elected officials expressed themselves as well as the Governor who emphasized: “I am delighted to be present at this opening, Phase 1 of a cultural adventure where Prayssas takes its place with all the projects to be developed thanks to this new tool. Offerings like this place help attract residents and entrepreneurs the new ones.”
Undoubtedly, this media library, with this full presentation, combined with the hall and its wonderful concerts, without losing sight of the dynamics of local associations and merchants, allows Prayssas to provide a pleasant living environment for its inhabitants in a protected environment.
