Olatokunbo Ige on Tuesday officially launched a project to manufacture two million devices by 2023 based on plastic bags. It was on the occasion of the celebration of International Women’s Day. For promoters of Livingstones Ecovillage, the initiative aims to create wealth through waste.

The project of manufacturing two million tools of manufacturing bags and shoes in particular will consist of waste (plastic bags).

For this purpose, it was announced that a group of 500 workers would be trained by Livingstones Eco-Village. They will be added to the shoemakers and upholsterers who are involved in this process upstream.

We also note that twelve girls from all regions of Togo are already working on site at Ecovillage in the field of environmental protection. They will be given more tips so that they can be effective in becoming focal points.

These ideas go in the direction of promoting local consumption and creating jobs in Togo.

Two years ago, Togo started promoting local consumption. We found that there is no consumption more interesting than consumption, which becomes waste and one uses it for the good of the nation. “We expect to create jobs and allow Togo to use its waste to produce wealth,” Ms. Ige said.

Project details were provided at the end of the conference discussion on Livingstones Ecovillage, marking the commemoration of March 08. It was a meeting of reflections and exchange about waste management by women.

The participants left feeling uneasy after touching on what everyone can do in their daily lives to manage waste and environment protection.
