Four years after its release, the popular horror game Resident Evil 7: Biohazard has surpassed millions of players on PSVR.
Capcom’s official stats tracker shows that as of January 14, 2021, more than 1,010,000 people The game is played in Sony VR headset. This represents 14.49% of all players who chose the ResidentEvil.net service on PS4, Xbox, and PC.

It was a long way to reach the millions of players in Resident Evil 7 on PSVR. As a reminder, the game has crossed the bar 900,000 users as of June 2020. Early last year, Sony confirmed that the PSVR itself had been sold to More than 5 million copies.

Waiting for new VR support for popular license
Resident Evil titles have won many fans since the first game in 1996. However, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is the only installment that received a VR mod. A remake of Resident Evil 2 and 3 was released a long time ago however there is no VR support for either of them.
The upcoming Resident Evil 8 returns in first-person, but Capcom has yet to announce VR support for this new title on PC or PS5, with the latter not supporting VR for the original games. However, there are rumors that PSVR support is already included in the next installment of Resident Evil.
