The law prohibits advertising calls made without the calling party’s express consent. However, the number of phone harassment appears to be increasing. The Federal Network Agency offers the ability to report unauthorized advertising calls using a complaint form. The federal authority recorded a new high for 2020. While the number of complaints decreased in 2019 from the previous year with 54,242 submissions, it now increased to 63,273 complaints – more than 1,000 complaints from 2018.
