Overwatch 2 introduces many innovations, including new characters, maps, and game modes. One of the new game modes coming to the game is a goal-based back-and-forth battle known as Push. Here’s everything you need to know about the Push game mode in Overwatch 2.

How to play Push

Push, a mode unique to Overwatch 2, is played on a symmetrical map. Two teams will compete to control the robot that will push the barrier to the other side of the map. Each team will have its own hurdles that must be pushed back. The robot will start from a central point on the map and whoever controls the area around it will move their barrier. However, each team can control the barrier at any time, with a home and away establishment throughout the match. The team that pushes their barrier the furthest to the enemy’s side wins the game.

What is the best payment strategy?

Although both teams are technically on offense in this mode, there is still the traditional attack and goal defense. So, for ease of understanding, when we say attack we mean fighting to control the robot. When we say motive, we mean fighting to maintain control of the robot.

The best attack strategy to use is to attack as a team. There is power in numbers, so trying to take control of a bot without your entire team is a wild ride. When you’re grouped with your team, all five don’t have to ship the bot into one big group. This makes it easier for the enemy team to control you and locate you all. The best way to attack with your team is from multiple directions simultaneously. Expansion will force the enemy team to split their focus and make scanning from the critical team more difficult.

This leaves us with the bot’s defense. To effectively defend the bot, there is only one strategy to use. This strategy is known as the art of divergence. Deploying your team around the bot will help avoid using AOE Ultimate capabilities that could lead to easy team sweeps. Placement is important, however, and there’s another key tip for when the tables are about to turn. As long as there is a cannon near the robot, it will not turn around and head the other way. Challenging the bot for as long as possible can waste a lot of time for the attacking team.

Since Push is played on a symmetrical map, completely new maps had to be designed to meet the needs of the game mode. Currently, there are only two Push Maps confirmed in Overwatch 2, but we’re expecting more. Watch more before the game and after the official launch. Here are all the payment cards confirmed so far for Overwatch 2.

• Colosseo – a battle in the streets of Rome with the ancient Colosseum soaring at the top.
• New Queen Street – A harrowing battle across the winding roads of Toronto.

It’s also worth noting that just because these cards have to be the same doesn’t mean that they are exactly the same on both sides. Subtle design and lighting changes allow each aspect to feel individual without sacrificing the fairness of similar design.
