What is Battlefield Mobile?
Originally announced in April 2021, Battlefield Mobile is a game being developed by DICE and Industrial Toys specifically for mobile platforms, with the goal of bringing a complete skill-based experience into players’ pockets. While this may mean that DICE is hoping for a generic skill set for gamers of all backgrounds, it also hints at what the developers are trying to achieve while creating what they think is one of the best games available.
Taking the Battlefield universe and reducing it to a more competitive experience while trying to maintain its epic scale might work in theory. DICE has also stated that Battlefield Mobile will be its own standalone product and a “completely different” product from all current iterations of Battlefield.
When is the next test run?
So far, there hasn’t been a gameplay test for Battlefield Mobile, but Electronic Arts is preparing to change that. Unfortunately, not many people will get the chance to try the game ahead of time. According to a FAQ about the game on EA’s Answer HQ website, the company said it will “regularly launch” a series of tests in Indonesia and the Philippines that are currently expected to be available this fall.
EA also notes that these playback tests will only be available on Android devices. However, EA said that as testing continues, the size and areas of testing will be expanded to accommodate the new information. While this might not be the most exciting news for players outside of these countries, it’s very easy to sign up to see when you’ll be the next to take the play test.
Electronic Arts says that once the game is available in your region, you only need to pre-register the game on your local Google Play Store. From there, you will be automatically notified when a game test opens in your area.

At the moment, there isn’t much information on when Battlefield Mobile will be released or even when a larger game test session will be released. Unfortunately, Electronic Arts has only provided a vague “2022” release date window, so fans will have to be a little patient with this one.
With the game probably still in the very early stages of development, it appears that DICE and Industrial Toys are taking a much slower approach to things and opting to get as much feedback as possible before bringing Battlefield Mobile to a larger audience.
