YouTube is testing downloading videos on PC

Through its apps for Android and iOS, YouTube already offers premium subscribers framed download of videos to watch offline. This is not yet officially the case with YouTube on PC.

As part of the beta features that YouTube Premium subscribers can test out after manual activation, YouTube is adding the ability to download videos from the browser on the computer.

The feature in testing is available until October 19, with a mystery as to what exactly will happen after that deadline.

Click the Download button when watching a video or the three-dot list when browsing YouTube “, can we read. The feature is only available with the latest version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Opera that share the Chromium base.

The download comes with a web app installed. The displayed video quality ranges from 144p to 1080p. It is specified that downloads remain available on a device that connects to the Internet at least once every 30 days.
