Wixom, Michigan. Everything from video games to specialized equipment was stolen to help run this business while in a secure storage facility. During a police investigation, Jaylene Staley and her mother try to figure out how to proceed.
Thieves broke into a children’s toy bus after leaving a door open due to a malfunction.
The situation caused a huge dilemma for the young man who owns the bus as a business called Level Up Wit Jay’s Gaming Bus.

“It’s a toy bus,” said Jaylene Staley. “We drive to your house and then you walk in and play games on it. You can have a movie night. You can play games. Or you can try karaoke.
The 11-year-old just graduated from fifth grade on Thursday (June 8th) and is already in some real trouble after the thieves got away with loads of things that earned him money.
“I was sad, I was angry and angry,” Staley said. “But it was like I didn’t really know what I was feeling.”

It all seems to have happened when one of the doors at 1800-Self-Storage In . broke down Wixom without customers noticing. Staley’s mother, Brittany Staley, was the only one who found out.
“It would be great if they compensated us not only for storing our things there, but also for some of the renovation costs we had to do because they didn’t leave the door locked,” said Brittany Staley. Nor did they contact us to tell us as customers that the door is broken.”
It appears that the thieves were able to take a steel tube and use it to force their way inside the bus, allowing them to steal more.
“There was a box with some toys in it,” Brittany Staley said. “But then when I opened the cabinet to see if all the electronic parts were there, they were all gone. The lights couldn’t turn on, the TVs couldn’t turn on. Nothing.”

With all the video games taken with other important electronic devices, nearly $4,000 worth of items were stolen.
“I’m not going to let that stop me or make me not want to try again,” said Jaylene Staley. “I will try again and I will not give up.”
Local 4 has attempted to speak to management at the storage facility, but no one has been able to respond at the time of this article’s publication.
