The Anker Expand + USB-C Hub measures 11.6 x 5.3 cm and is 1.6 cm thick. Its light weight of 114g makes it easy to take with you to accompany your laptop. Its cable measures just over 21cm, including the USB-C connector.
Like many models, Anker has taken up the gray space that Apple uses on its MacBooks. Thus, the top of the hub is made of brushed aluminum and the main part that accommodates all ports is black plastic. The connectivity provided by the Expand+ consists of two full-size USB ports (Type A), an HDMI port, an SD and microSD card reader, an RJ45 port, and a USB-C compatible Power Delivery port for connecting your charger.
USB ports are standard USB 3.0 ports (5 Gbit/s) and can theoretically reach 600 MB/s. For a card reader, Anker mentions transfers of up to 104 MB/s, which is the read speed of the UHS-I standard. The Ethernet port is a Gigabit standard, and as such will allow you to take advantage of an optical fiber Internet connection. Flat for HDMI port since Anker opted for the HDMI 1.4 standard with a maximum of 3840 x 2160 pixels at 30 Hz, making this definition unpleasant to use, even in office automation. Full HD support is better, as the box is able to operate at 60Hz in this definition.
Nothing to report on Expand+ heating: 30.1°C registered on the Anker logo and 35°C at the USB-C cable.
