On September 21, 2021, the Free 1337 Twitter account announced Increase in 4G + speeds For Free Mobile subscribers. This official account is managed by the team responsible for the Xavier Niel operator network. So this is 100% official information.

“We have started deploying 4G 2100MHz. Thanks to this frequency, 4G + speeds will be able to increase up to 25% if your mobile is able to aggregate our frequencies (bands 28, 1, 3, 7)”, Free 1337 says in a tweet.

Free mobile gives a big boost to 4G+ speeds

As the team responsible for Free Mobile Network stated, “We had 4,726 authorized sites on 4G 2100MHz” As of 1 September. The ANFR report confirms the publication of these antennas in Frequency range 2100MHz. As a reminder, 4G + is based on a network technology capable of accumulating different frequencies. In this case, the operator simply adds the 2100 MHz band to the 700 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2600 MHz bands, which makes it possible to increase the speeds. Obviously, the announced increase will depend greatly on where you are.

Unfortunately, Not all smartphones are able to collect the new frequencies that are circulating. In France, there are 5 frequency bands authorized by the authorities: B28 (700 MHz), B20 (800 MHz), B3 (1800 MHz), B1 (2100 MHz) and B7 (2600 MHz). Some smartphones imported from the US or Chinese markets are not compatible with all bands operating in France. This is also the case for older terminals, designed at a time when some frequencies were not used by telecom operators.
