It is called “Dés Aventures”, and it organizes a biweekly session: it now meets on Friday evenings at Quai 31, rue Charles de Gaulle.

Backgammon role-playing game is a board game, but unlike backgammon (Monopoly, Scrabble, etc.), there are no winners or losers. This game takes the form of a discussion guided by the rules. Most of the time the player interprets a character as somewhat of an improvisation, but everyone is free to do whatever they want.

At the table are the players, but also the general manager, who will thus be called the Game Master: he knows and enforces the many rules of this role-playing game, like a team sports judgment… “The goal is everything just to create a beautiful story, through exchange with others “.

Role-playing is complex, therefore, simple in faith, is first and foremost fun. Of course, on the tables there are also accessories, cards, dice …

And in Marmande, one of the three Societies of Lot-et-Garonne, there is also the procedure to follow: the week before the session, on Thursday, Martin and Robin publish the schedules and their topics on their Facebook page.

We serve 5 to 6 tables in the evening. When you want to play, you have to think that you are a screenwriter and an actor in a movie. And I insist: It’s definitely not a thing for geeks!

Projects

One of Adventures has been around since 2019, they have already gone through Covid. And there are about thirty people there on Friday evening, young and old.

Its representatives have a lot of projects, in progress and will materialize in the future: inviting other associations to sessions, interfering with the entertainment center (it was this week!), participating in the comics in the meadow (c for this month in March)), suggesting the privatization of an evening (“Because to start, it may be easier to start with people you know”) …
