Snap launches Story Studio, a mobile video editing app

Story Studio was first announced in May, and is now available as a “first release” for iOS users in the US, UK and Canada. The app launched by Snapchat, which aims to give creators more precise control over editing vertical videos and allow them to add elements such as text, audio direction, and AR lenses.

The created video can be uploaded directly to Spotlight, a TikTok style video section. The videos can be uploaded and shared on other platforms, and are not watermarked like the ones on TikTok.

The app can be a handy tool, especially for those who are looking to use Snapchat for brand promotion and marketing purposes. Additionally, Snap says it will continue to offer “a range of opportunities” to reward popular creators. Snap still faces competition in the mobile video space from TikTok and Instagram Reels
