The Model S Plaid outperforms the SF90 Stradale in acceleration!

Traditional automakers have a vested interest in not taking electric cars off the top! The latter sometimes develop enough power to undermine the performance of their classic cars.

The Model S Plaid is a beast: the Tesla goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds, and delivers 1,020 hp. A performance that could snuggle more traditional sports cars, and that’s what the YouTube channel’s enlightened aficionados wanted to test. dragtimes, by pitting the Model S Plaid against Ferrari’s SF90 Stradale.

Tesla prices par excellence, even better: on several occasions it has beaten the sports car! The two cars raced on a 400-meter track built specifically for these comparisons. The SF90 has 1,000 hp with a hybrid (780 hp V8 paired with a 220 hp electric motor).

If Ferrari can drive at a top speed of 340 km/h, the Model S Plaid stops at 322 km/h, which isn’t really bad! The SF90, much lighter than the Tesla Model, offers 1.88 kg per hp, versus 2.15 kg for the Model S. Despite everything, it performed better on the track than in shape.

During the race, the Model S Plaid covered the 400m in 9.363 seconds (237.88 km/h), while Ferrari was “satisfied”, so to speak, in 9.590 seconds (236, 72 km/h). In all the tests performed, the Tesla has surpassed the Italian company’s car on numerous occasions. I get it, it was about comparing the acceleration of cars, and in this area Tesla fears no one…
