5G deployment March 2021: The Free Mobile app is still very active, and others are following a lot

Arcep reveal The latest data for the deployment of 5G in France. Free Mobile is clearly more active than Orange, SFR and Bouygues Telecom. This was really the case in the beginning and still is today.

Free Mobile now has 7,044 5G websites in France. This represents an additional 761 locations since the end of January. The player focuses on the frequency bands 700, 800 and 3500 MHz. Some particularly criticize the special focus on 700 and 800MHz. They were already there for 4G. As the CEO of Orange says, it is with 3500 MHz that customers especially benefit from the high speeds.

Bouygues Telecom is the second operator with 2,029 5G sites. He had 146 more than he had at the end of January. It focuses on the 1800, 2100, and 3500 MHz bands. Then there is Orange with 1059 5G sites, or 107 other sites since the end of January. It is also based on the 1800, 2100 and 3500MHz bands. Finally, SFR comes last with 987 5G sites, or another 144 sites since the end of January. It’s like Orange and Bouygues Telecom for frequency bands.

Arcep is also involved in mapping commercially open 5G sites by Orange, SFR, Bouygues Telecom and Free Mobile.
